During my visit to Louwman Museum in The Hague I captured a lot more amazing cars than you've seen in my previous post. After the Fujifilm event we were invited to have a look at the rest of the collection, and also since I brought my Lumia 950 XL and the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge + that was impossible to resist it. You'll find a selection of what I captured in this post.
This is a first in the history of the SmartCam Club as far as I can remember: in this post I will be sharing what I recently captured with the brand new Fujifilm X70 and the Fujifilm X-Pro2. I was able to use these devices during a Fujifilm event at the Louwman Museum in The Hague, where I was overwhelmed by an absolutely breath-taking collection of old and new cars.
You've seen some devastating results coming from the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact in my previous comparison and I decided to give it another chance in the exact same flower shop it performed so terrible in. I brought the "usual suspects", in alphabetical order the LG G4, Lumia 950 XL, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge + and the Sony Z5. This time, I had all settings on auto, no manual settings, everything "as is". All shots you'll see here are straight from the cam.
This is my first post in a very long time and for a special reason: the Lumia 950 XL and the Microsoft Display Dock coming with it a few weeks later. It's going to be a long post as well: you'll read about my experience with Windows Phone / Windows 10 Mobile so far and about what I think of the new Lumia Camera compared to a few other high-end smartphone cameras (the LG G4, Sony Xperia Z5 Compact and the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge +). And I'll write about how Continuum has really surprised me, turning my smartphone into a small PC - I even wrote most parts of this post on the very same Lumia 950 XL.
A moment in time for me, post no. 1250. This all started as the PureViewClub in May 2012 so I've been at this for over three years now. It's been more than a hobby, more than a passion even: it has become an addiction. So I think it's high time for a time out.
In this comparison you'll see two scenes captured by six high-end smartphone cameras over the years - from the good old Nokia N8, 808 PureView and Lumia 1520 up to the recent Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1 and brand new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and LG G4. Place your bets now.
This is the kind of comparison you appear to love so much, the kind this club is more or less famous for I guess. I captured three scenes (two outside, one inside) with the most prestigious smartphone cameras out there: the LG G4, Samsung Galaxy S6, Sony Xperia Z3+, Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1 and the Nokia 808 PureView.
I sometimes read people being nostalgic about the old Sony Ericsson devices - suggesting they're even better than Sony's current camera technology. Since I'm not just interested in the future but also in the history of smartcams I bought the C905 a few months ago and this seems like a good time to see how they actually compare.
