Very short comparison - Nokia 808 PureView, Lumia 1020 and Samsung Galaxy K Zoom
This is just an extremely comparison, including the Nokia 808 PureView, Nokia Lumia 1020 and Samsung Galaxy K Zoom. I didn't have the Lumia 930 yet so I couldn't bring it to France. The Nokia Lumia 1020 is still on Developer's Preview software, so not the official Cyan version it is on now (still need to test it). As you know, I was on holiday and comparisons take time - not just in editing the results, but capturing them as well. So I kept my PureViewClub's work to a minimum this year, and I didn't bring all devices on every trip either. You'll see just one scene from Southern France: a house I'd love to be able to buy one day :-) It's a private house in
Moliet-et-Maa, a village near the French Atlantic coast so small you'll have a hard time finding any information about it at all. This is the resized version of the 38MP result I got from the Lumia 1020.
If I remember correctly, I put all devices on "sunny", but I'm not 100% sure and the Galaxy K Zoom doesn't show in the EXIF file. I did put that on ISO 100 though, just like the Lumia 1020. The Nokia 808 PureView shows ISO 64, so I guess I forgot to put that on ISO 100 after all. Anyway, results are generally comparable and here I will only share the crops from all three. First, the Lumia 1020 in 5MP.
Next, the Nokia 808 PureView in 8MP
Considering its resolution, the Samsung Galaxy K zoom is next with 20.7MP.
And last: both Nokia 41MP devices - 808 first, 1020 second.
Now it's quite hard to compare these results, but in general I think I can say I really do like the 5MP result coming from the Nokia Lumia 1020 and the 38MP result from the Nokia 808 PureView. I didn't use any of the Galaxy's zoom capacity and I think its result ends last in this comparison, since the details are a bit "messy". You´ll find all originals here on Flickr.
And yes, that's all from France this time as far as comparisons are concerned. I'm really happy to be able to work with the Nokia Lumia 930 since a few days, and I'm quite sad to say the camera module of my Lumia 1520 appears to have died on me at the same time - don't ask me why, I have no idea. So different than I planned, you won't be seeing any comparisons between the Lumia 1520 and 930 for the next few weeks or whatever it will take to get my 1520 fixed.
I will be testing the Lumia 930 though, and I hope to be able to get you some interesting shots soon. I will share more of my shots from France on Flickr later, and maybe you'd even like to buy one of them as soon as I offer them in my small shop on " Workonthewall" - an online shop where you can order if you are from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany or France (UK will follow soon I hope). Don't hesitate to become my very first customer there :-)
