From Nokia 7650 to Lumia 1020 - Richard Dorman's 11 year digital trip down memory lane
On his own blog OnlyFoolsAndMobiles, Richard Dorman (aka Sheridan01 on Twitter and Flickr) posted over 50 (!) shots he took in the past 11 (!) years with an almost incredible range of Nokia camera phones. You'll find shots from the Nokia 7650, 6600, 7610, N70, N93, N95, N95 8Gb, N97, N8, 808 and Lumia 1020.
Like he writes: "The photos are not masterpieces, any skill I do have didn’t really develop until 2010 and the Nokia N8. This is more of a trip down memory lane, to share the photos and places my Nokia phones and I visited." Well, let's say they're not all masterpieces, there are quite a few I would love to be able to realize when I grow up.
You'll find his complete post here: My 11 years with a Nokia camera. It's very interesting to actually see how the camera quality of Nokia has improved over the years. I've posted a similar story with the shots from mr. Damian Dinning (former Head of Nokia Imaging), coming from his Nokia N73 to his Nokia 808 PureView, but in Richard Dorman's story, the historical perspective is even larger.
You will have to check all his shots at his own site, I'll just share the first and one of his last :-) The first is from the Nokia 7650. Shot in 640 x 480 I didn't even have to resize it to share it here.
Near the end of his post you might see a few shots I shared at the PureViewClub before, but I don't think this was one of them - an absolutely breath-taking view from the Brussels' Atomium, captured in rainy weather with the Nokia 808 PureView.
It's just one of many of his great shots I could have chosen. For the dozens of other shots however, you'll just have to go to OnlyFoolsAndMobiles to find Richard Dorman's incredible collection of digital shots, all captured with Nokia camera phones. It is most certainly worth your time - and not only if you're interested to see how Nokia's imaging has improved in 11 years!
