Elop, Björknäs and Alakarhu did a fantastic job introducing the Nokia Lumia 1020

I've been tweeting much more than I planned to yesterday, during the announcement of the Nokia Lumia 1020. So much had already been leaked, and yet: the whole presentation was stunning. During a Nokia announcement, I have never ever seen so much passion and overwhelming confidence in the product.

There were no celebrities on stage, apart from the fact that CEO Stephen Elop is quite a celebrity himself. No models or movie stars or sports heroes. All Nokia needed were "just" two very dedicated employees, who were more than happy to show what the Nokia Lumia 1020 is capable of: Kristina Björknäs ( Bjorknas on Twitter) and Juha Alakarhu ( Jalakarhu on Twitter).

Three people was all it took to make one of the best product announcements I've ever seen (the only one even more confident that this I can think of was Steve Jobs introducing the iPhone). No software partners, no lengthy introduction of services we already know: the greatest part of yesterday's announcement was dedicated to the amazing imaging capacities of the Nokia Lumia 1020.

So much enthusiasm, so much confidence, so much proof on stage of what the 41 Megapixel oversampling technology and OIS of the Nokia Lumia 1020 can do for you. Showing what they mean with the "Zoom. Reinvented" slogan - the needle in the haystack demonstration by Kristina was totally convincing, as were the yellow taxis from the aerial shot near New York Central Park.

As you can see, I've been busy making screenshots of the whole event, not sure if it would be possible to see the whole announcement somewhere later. There is, the whole thing is  on YouTube (see below). First some more screenshots of some of the scenes I particularly liked last evening.

The quality of these screenshots isn't perfect, I know, but I'm sure you got the general idea. Here is the complete announcement as I found it on YouTube.
