Colorful wood at the harbour of Ile d'Oléron
After a week in France I have so many more shots than time to share - I shouldn't even be here I guess, but it's very hard to leave the club alone (although I know it's in good hands :-).
So here's a first selection of some colorful wooden houses in the harbour of Ile d'Oléron, shot with the Nokia 808 PureView and Nokia Lumia 925. Resized to fit this site and I'll even throw in some crops.
I must say I'm quite happy with the results I get from the Nokia Lumia 925 and it makes me look forward to the Lumia 1020 immensly, since - obviously with a 41MP sensor - the Nokia 808 Pureview still is King, as the crops will show you. But the Lumia 925 performs remarkably well!
Here we go. Nokia 808 PureView first, Nokia Lumia 925 second.
Now, the crops from the same shots in the same order: Nokia 808 PureView first. Mind you, only the last shot (with the boat) was made in full resolution with the Nokia 808 PureView. Due to the different sizes of all shots, I selected more or less the same region of the shot and resized them to fit this post (if necessary).
I think it's clear the Nokia Lumia 925 does a very good job indeed, also given it's much smaller sensor. Like I said, it makes me look forward to test the Lumia 1020 even more and compare that in shots like these with the Nokia 808 PureView. Point is, even if I could afford to, I can't buy it in my country (nor in France) and I'm begging Nokia to borrow me one for a long time. I really hope that will help...
(PS Since I'm on a mobile connection, I won't upload the originals on Flickr yet, I'll do so when I got a decent WiFi connection)
