Breathtaking sunset in Thailand

I can't remember who retweeted this picture in my Twitter timeline today, but it was Steve Litchfield who beat me at writing a post about it. So what you read here is written after I saw his inspiring story about this fantastic shot...

The shot is by  photographer Juha Lappalainen, who describes himself on his website as "a creative minded finnish fellow who is passionate about photography, making music, and traveling among many other things". I urge you to visit his website once more, since he has some truly stunning pictures there...

He made the shot in Thailand with the Nokia 808 PureView, by hand, setting the ISO on 50. According to Steve, who no doubt has been in contact with him, "Juha, being an artistic chap, wanted to apply the 808's 'sunset' filter as well, to add "extra punch". He even has the original shot on his site:

I'm not sure which shot I like better - to be honest I don't think I would have changed the original one. But after seeing Juha's top shots on his site, I realize I still have a lot to learn myself :-). Over at All About Symbian you can get the original sizes if you'd like to change the wallpaper on your desktop.
