Stills from a fast rollercoaster ride, filmed with the Nokia 808 PureView

A few days ago, I shared this video with you - a rollercoaster in amusement park Slagharen here in the Netherlands. This 1979 "Thunder Loop" measures 592 meters and is 24,5 meters high. Maximum speed is 77 kilometer (about 48 miles) per hour.

Now what I have a bit more time on my hands, I want to show you some stills from that ride, cause I was surprised by the amount of detail you can see on it.

I was moving the camera above my head at great speed as well, to keep up with the rollercoaster. You will see five screenshots resized to 640 x 360 pixels, and 5 crops taken from the original screenshots, resized to 640 x 360 as well.

These screenshots were taken from the original video, of course - from my PC, don't let the "play" button fool you. Please remember there is no Optical Image Stabilisation on the Nokia 808 PureView :-)

Too bad I didn't have a Galaxy S III, HTC One X, iPhone 5 or even a Nokia Lumia 920 with me at the time :-) Maybe (!) when I'll get  my hands on the Nokia Lumia 920 I'll find the guts somewhere to make a video during a rollercoaster ride myself. Not promising anything though!
