Nokia 808 PureView

It's time to leave Nokia Sync

This might be a bit off-topic - and I don't mean it as a rant either - but since this club started with the Nokia 808 PureView, I feel more or less obliged to warn you that Nokia Sync will be taken down within a month. Here's what to do, it's all in the email you may have missed.

How close can you get? Testing close-up and zoom on 11 (!) high-end smartphone cameras

I'm not sure if I've ever done anything like this before - compare the zoom capacity of different smartphone cameras. But I'm quite sure I never did that with 11 (!) different high-ed smartphones. In alphabetical order you'll see how close you can go with Huawei, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony.

Comparison: Extreme night photography (no flash) - updated and Lumia 735 included

This is about photography in extreme dark circumstances. At night, I took several smartphone cameras with me to see what they could capture of a simple slide, only lit by a lamp post. I needed the most extensive manual settings to achieve the best results, so I was left with the Nokia 808 PureView, Lumia 930, Lumia 830 and Samsung Galaxy K Zoom. You'll find the update below, don't miss it.

Just a flat at "golden hour" with the Nokia 808

Months ago, you might have seen a post here of Batman's house at " golden hour". I've linked to both, so you can check what it's all about. The pictures of Batman's house brought a surprising amount of visitors to the PureViewClub, since a blogsite in Taiwan linked to them. The house is beautiful in itself, but the light at "golden hour" will make just about anything look astonishing.
