I promised a few shots from Barcelona captured with different smartcams, and I'd like to start with what I captured from and around Las Arenas, the former bullfighting arena at Plaza Espanya, now a shopping mall and one of the famous landmarks of the city.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1
This is my second post with shots I captured with both the Nokia 808 PureView and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1. You'll find the first post here - yes it's been a while and I hope to do more soon. These shots were taken in perfect light during extreme great weather and in .JPG only. Let me start with a few words about that first.
It took about ten weeks but if finally arrived, the leather case for my Panasonic Lumic DMC-CM1. I'm thrilled to have finally received it, but I'm also a bit underwhelmed by its sheer size. Of course, the device has to fit, but somehow this case seems incredibly huge to me. In this post you'll see what I mean.
In this comparison you will see four high-end smartphone cameras at work - the classic Nokia 808 PureView, the large Nokia Lumia 1520, the pretentious Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1 and the high-end Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I will only compare the .JPG output and you'll find links to all originals.
In this post you will see some shots from a comparison at a forum of a French website ( planet-smartphones.fr), where the photographer tested the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 against the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1. Both devices are on automatic and the Note 4 was rooted to install a modification that avoids compression. That's probably not a fair way to compare both (why not root and mod the CM1 while you're at it?), but I'll share some of the shots here anyway.
